Who is the workshop intended for?

The training program “Balanced Scorecard (BSC)”  is intended for middle and senior management and specialists in controlling and process management.

Training objectives

The training aims to introduce participants with the techniques of selecting measures and their quantification. All participants will be able to understand and communicate the expected results through four standard perspectives and implement activities to realize its strategic intentions. Participants will learn how to increase the number of people in the organization who understand the strategy. Furthermore, they will learn how to assess the organization's ability to optimally respect and take advantage of environmental circumstances, create an adequate model of incentives related to the created and adopted strategy. Lastly, they will be able to provide time, adequate tangible and intangible resources for the implementation of the strategy and implement the PDCA concept for the realization of the selected strategy (analyze and plan - implement - monitor - eliminate interference, improve, introduce changes).

Workshop content

  • an introductory story about strategy (Sun Tzu – The Art of War)
  • limitations of financial measures and measurements, the true value of non-financial measures and measurements
  • measuring results and needs for BSC
  • initial activities in the introduction and development of BSC based on previously defined strategic intentions (mission – values – vision – core values – long-term goals – strategy)
  • creating a strategic map, linking causes and effects (if (, then ()
  • development of a communication plan and rules of teamwork and application of the principles of project management
  • designing a matrix of measures and performance measurements
  • setting goals and priorities among initiatives
  • cascading the BSC into organizational units
  • the use of BSC for budgeting
  • BSC as a basis for rewarding employees according to work results

  • maintenance and development of BSC in the organization.

The practical part consists of several exercises, some of which are conducted individually, and some in teams, and the works are presented and compared in the form of a dialogue:

  1. Analysis of the maturity of the organization and the level of excellence to determine the need for the introduction of BSC
  2. Cataloguing initiatives
  3. Setting priorities among goals
  4. Defining triggers (levers or “leads”) and indicators (rock or “lag”) to measure several.
